Woman of leisure..

Well it has been two weeks since i sat for my final paper of my MBA course. Alhamdulillah, the result is out, except for my case study which will only be made official by next month. Hoping for good grades, of course. I wish to be able to graduate with first class MBA (even though they only have general distinction).

Anyways, CNY is coming..dunno what to do to kill that 4 days holiday, though my house badly needs my touch :) (malas sebenarnya..)
Hmmm..thinking of re-arranging the second bedroom to Rania's official lil' abode, yelah she's already 3+. I guess she needs her own place.

So, lets start shopping for paint! Purple, of course!

Yummy Yum Yum...

I LOVE eating! Yes, I do enjoy eating food, and willing to travel all the way just to have a taste of the dishes which I saw on the TV! Ahaks.. I remember when I was pregnant with my precious Rania, we flew to Penang as I was craving for Pasembor! Huh..lucky me my fare is only 15%..

And my favourite channel, of course the one and only Asian Food Channel (AFC) lah.

If you were abroad, and looking for Halal food outlet, here are some tips :

Singapore

If you are staying somewhere along Orchard Road, there's one building next to Tangs (which I couldnt remember the name - but they sell lots of cheap consumer goods there). Go to the top floor (food court). The stalls there are all Halal, and the foods are good too. You can find Indonesian, Chinese, and Malay dishes to suit your pallate.

And of course, Arab street, where else. Here you can easily find Halal food which are prepared in 'Mamak' style (quite spicy, more curry-like dishes).

Or for more info, you can check out at www.goodfood.sg/halal_muslim

Auckland, New Zealand

This one place was the only place that we went for our dinner in Auckland. The rest of the nights, we cooked ourselves as the raw materials are really cheap, and fresh (play chef lah). The food was quite ok, and the price was really reasonable.

Mutiara Malaysia Restaurant, Ponsonby Rd, AKL.

Melbourne, Australia

We went to Queen Vic's market. Here you can find a lot of fresh food items prepared (but you have to go inside the building-outside is just the dry stuffs -clothing, toys, home decor, you know, stuffs like that..). Inside the building it's just like a fresh market in Malaysia, but they display it nicely in a 'glass' shop. And when we passed by the bakery, fullamak, the aroma almost made me stick to the glass door...They used a really fresh ingredients to bake the muffin, cakes. We bought choc chip muffin (the size is about my palm, mind you!) and the way the choc filling melted out from the centre, pheww..irresistible...nyum nyummm

There is also one Minang Restaurant in Swanston St. Go check that out!

Geneva, Switzerland

Here it's not that easy to find Halal food (i'm not sure if Zurich has more Halal outlets). But I went to the Train Station (located next to the Cointrin Airport), there are many cafes selling pizzas (you can even customized). I had pizza with olive and tuna topping (just one slice per meal) enough to last till morning (European size mah)..
If you go downtown (about 10mins by train), there are about 2-3 Arab's restaurants along the road (on your way to Geneva Lake). But yeah..most of them are Kebabs..

One of my favourite eateries around KJ is definitely behind FAM building. I love their wanton mee (dry lagi syiokk..), char kuey tiaw. It's just an ordinary corner-lot restaurant, but they offer pure hawker-style food. You should also try the fried dumpling, kuey tiaw soup ipoh..mmmm marvelous..

Dry Wanton Mee (Behind FAM, KJ)

Big Plate's Signature Dish..the lamb portion was a bit chewy lah..

Lasagne from Dave's Deli. The taste memang creamy, soft, and blend with the accompanied gravy. But i think they have to improve on the presentation. Err..change to new plate maybe, perhaps separate the gravy. At first i thought i ordered lasagne 'banjir'!

Quarter Chic from Dave's Deli. I think their chicken tastes better than Kenny's..

Banana fritters wz cheese and choc- Rest. Kebun Bunga, Jl Legian, BALI. I think this is typical Indonesian snack.. You have to comsume while it's hot, otherwise the banana will turn out soggy..
